It is not easy being green>>>

I am trying my best not to take things hard. Staying motivated with my diet, while balancing a full time night shift, and clepping out of classes to finish my degree. Trying to stay with in my budget and splurge a little bit when necessary.
But one of the things that I am  trying to implement in my house is to be more environmental friendly. My first step was to switch all the lights in my house to CFL's. The cost was about a $1 for each  at my local Wal-mart. I know that they have the newer LCD lights, but i am going to hold off on that just a little bit till....
The second step was paper towels. I spend any where between 15-20 on itpaper towels every two weeks.  I  saw somewhere online that I can use bar towels inside of paper towels. So off I went, in search of some. I got 24 bar mop towels at my Sam's club for a little bit under  $13. I have been using it for a week and to be honest. I love it, these towels soak up so much more then paper towels. And it be honest it works  a lot better. I am able to use one and throw it into the dirty basket and pick up another. One towel usually does what 5 paper towels would do.
To be honest, I brought 2 12 pack of paper towels two months ago and I still have about 18 left. So I think this is a system that i will be keeping.

New me, new chapeter

So yesterday, I started a new job and need to do an pre-employment screening.  And as with all screening the wanted to check my blood pressure and my weight. Now I know i am a big girl, i have been big most my life been teased and called all types of names. But over the years I came to love the body that i am in and accept it. But last year things change when my brother passed away due to heart complications. but before that he was trying his hardest to loose the weight and lead a more healthy life style.
Back to yesterday, I hop on the scale weighting to see the same numbers that I have always seen. But the number have shock me I gain 8 pounds I was pushing 242.2 pounds. I thought that it was just their scale that made me their scale was calibrated wrong and didn't give a second thought to it. I knew I am big and don't mind it so much. I knew that there was a weight watchers sign up for later that night and i could put my mind at ease. Hoping that the scale their would say what I thought my weight really was.
Well when I went for the sign up and intinal weight check in the scale was right on point. I was an amazing 242.2 pounds I can't believe it. I just thought about what my brother went through and I didn't want to go through the same thing. I don't want to suffer I want to be around  for my kid! That night I look at my fridge and saw the reason I had gain so much in so little time. Ribs, BBQ chicken wings,ox tail, and other fating and greasy food. No fruits nor veggies in their. Even through i had started cooking more in efforts to stop eating out and be more healthy. I didn't stop to think to cook more healthy.
So last night, I stop and wrote my grocery list for the week and highlighted all the things that I needed and decided to make little switches, that would help me in the long run.( I will post about my grocery shopping later on in the week.)I also decided that I would walk my dog every day. Shooting for twice a day for at least 30 minutes.
Old picture of me!

So she is back.....

I so love Eve and think that she is one of the best rappers, she doesnt need to flash boobs or wear a crazy out fit to get followers. Her music speaks for itself and she needs more credit then any other female rapper.

Moving in with the Bf

So this is the month that we finally did it. We are co inhabitants in a new old place. I used to live in this house over five years ago, I think when I started this blog.
Moving in seem to be the hardest thing ever. There where so many bumps that we had to get over. And some that we had to deal with still. But I am luck to have such a loving and handy man. I am looking forward to all the possibilities and new changes.
We are painting and landscaping, and changing things as the days progress.
But the list is long on this that need to get done in this house.

We need quite a few things. So over the next few months, there is going to be a lot of post on house decorations, cleaning, pet care, hairstyles, tips, and other life hacks.

Maintain a Single Parent Household PT.... The Tote Bag

I have a bag I use for remembering the simple little things. I pack it the night before for next day use.
I include my rented movies, library books. Basically anything that need to be returned the next day.
My daughter has sevarel bags. I know you are reading this and thinking why she needs more then one. She has a lot of extra school activites. It is why her to have things sperated and packed on a weekend for the whole week.

She has a dance bag which has her tap shoes, slippers, leotard, thights, extra pair of socks and a sweater. Her swim bag that has her bathing suit, a towel, shampoo and condish, soap and some scrunhies and a cover up. And her bag for violin lessons which just contains her book and a shoulder rest. With her bags I can just throw it in to the back of car, so I don't have nothing to think about.
